Our Wine Travel Guide for Spain is broken into more regional guides that share each ones history, terroir, tips on where to sip, where to stay and things to do beyond the vines

When visiting Spain, making a trip into wine country is a must. With seven main wine regions, 69 Denominacion de Orgin’s (DO) and 4,000 wineries you will find something for everyone’s palate. The country is the world’s third largest wine producer, only behind France and Italy but has more than coverage of vines planted than any other country – 3 million!

Our Spanish wine travel guides are designed to help you plan the perfect Spanish wine vacation. And like wine, our guides get better with age as we will continue to build them out and add more tips and wine adventures. Make sure to subscribe to keep updated.

GETTING AROUND

I highly recommend you higher a guide for your wine tastings in Spain, unless you're in Haro as you can walk to all the tasting rooms. Getting around the wine country can be challenging for people who do not regularly drive in Spain, don't know the area or don't speak the language. Please note, you have to have reservations in advance when visiting wineries in Spain, your guide can set these up for you and make recommendations on where to sip based on your preferences. Private drivers may seem like a dime a dozen in Spain, but not all those dimes are equal. Look for those who are well rated and/or ask your hotel for recommendations. In the meantime, here are a few we have used and recommend.
