The Wine Check, $90-$105
I loved using The Wine Check when we traveled to Italy! It’s a perfect tool for bringing wine home with you as checked luggage. Pop it out, insert a cardboard or Styrofoam insert wine shippers (12 bottle), which you can pick up at most wineries and voila. WineHero, $28
The Wine Hero is an excellent tool for traveling with wine in your checked luggage. Since this packs flat until you need it I end up keeping one in my carry-on at all times. Who knows when I might just HAVE to bring a bottle home with me… This bottle sleeve protector can’t be beat. It has a triple seal closure to ensure a completely spill and leak proof traveling experience.Best of all, it’s reusable, eco-friendly and can be used for not only wine but liquor, beer, olive oil and vinegar bottles.
Say hello to more fun in the pool! This is perfect for relaxing at the pool, beach or lake and is easy to pack for any vacay since it deflates and can be tucked into your carry-on.
I like my whites and rosé wine chilled, but sometimes it’s not in the cards. So, I turn to my stainless steel ice cubes to do the job. They chill the wine without changing the taste profile – adding water it, which traditional ice cubes will do – and they’re reusable. You can use these for more than wine too.
Wine Glass Markers, $10
I personally love using these wine markers to note when we should open bottles of wine and/or when I got them. They’re also great for writing on wine glasses so people can keep up with their glasses. The ink in these writing pens is absolutely safe and food grade, and is easy to wash off with warm soap water.
One of my new favorite wine accessories that makes wrapping wine EASY is Coaster Greetings. They’re one part coaster and one part greeting card. Fun greetings are printed and inserted into the clear, plastic coaster – there are a variety of fun greetings and you can personalize them with a handwritten note on the back. The greeting enclosed in the coaster has a perforated edge that hangs from the bottle and can easily be removed to just be a coaster. It’s like a greeting card that never gets thrown away.
You can find Coaster Greetings at some retail shops, or order them directly online. (I haven’t seen them in stores – yet.) If you order them online, Carpe Travel readers will get a 15% discount when you use the code CARPETRAVEL at check out.

SipCaddy is the only portable cupholder in the world that also holds wine glasses! Attach it to any smooth, nonporous surface for an instant drink butler for wine (or beer). I like to use mine in the bath…
This two-piece aeration shower funnel is designed to aerate wine as it is poured. The nested strainer removes sediments and solids from red wine during aeration.
Wine Gifts Over $50
Riedel Ultra Decanter, $200
There are so many options when it comes to decanters. I like Riedel as it’s a hand-made, fine crystal decanter in a classic design. In other words, it’s simple, well made and get the job done.
PortoVino Wine Bag, $80
When I first saw the PortoVino Wine Bag I didn’t think I would ever use it BUT turns out there are so many times I found I could – concerts, the beach, parks, kids lacrosse practice – so I got one! There are several styles of the PortoVino Wine Bag so make sure to check them out to see which best fits your needs. Regardless, they all offer the ability to discretely carry two bottles of wine (or 1.5L of your favorite beverage) from a removable, easy to use bpa-free party pouch. Each PortoVino has a unique, patent-pending secret, zippered, insulated pocket that keeps your party pouch chilled for hours. Each bag features a designer flap on the back that hides a pouring spout until you are ready to use it. I personally use mine for work stuff too. It makes it easy to go from working at the coffee shop to sitting at the kids lacrosse practices.

The Wine Aroma Kit is a wine tasting educational tool designed by sommeliers as a library of wine scents. Perfect gifts for wine lovers or for those who wish to sharpen their tasting skills.
