Do you watch movies when you’re in-flight? I’ll be honest, I rarely do unless it’s an international flight. I tend to try to crank out work when I’m flying BUT my travel companions (aka my kids) are both huge in-flight movie go-ers. My challenge, I don’t always remember to add new movies to my iPad before we travel, thus my girls get bored with the selection…meaning my work doesn’t always get completed. Enter Gogo Vision.
Gogo Vision is a new customizable inflight entertainment service from Gogo that brings movies and TV shows, including localized content, directly to passengers’ Wi-Fi devices. The Gogo Vision service has more than 125 shows/movies – many are award nominated films and quite a few family-friendly movies to keep little ones entertained during flights. How Gogo Vision Works:
All you need is a Wi-Fi enabled laptop, smart phone or tablet. Once you hit 10,000 feet, just switch on your device and connect to the GoGo Inflight Wi-Fi network. Opening your browser will take you to the Gogo homepage, where you can access its Entertainment On Demand.
From there, you can browse titles and watch previews at no charge. Once you’ve found what you want, make your purchase, download the plugin if prompted, and enjoy the show. (I suggest you download the plugin beforehand if you can, just to save time.) One of the cool features of Gogo Vision is that you can pause, rewind, and finish watching your selection when you reach your destination. Once you’re back online on the ground, what’s left of your show is yours for the watching – on the same device and browser you used to make your purchase – for the remainder of the rental period (usually 24 hours).
Current pricing includes TV shows priced from $0.99 and movies from $3.99. One of the benefits of Gogo Vision is that you don’t need to purchase a Gogo in-flight Internet session to enjoy the Entertainment On Demand. All you need to use the service is a electronic device and a flight equipped with Gogo.
