Las Vegas with Kids?

I have to be honest, I’ve never considered going to Las Vegas with kids…until recently. For me, Las Vegas has always been centered around business meetings, conferences and/or having way too much fun. It’s never seemed like a place I’d want to be in “mom-mode”. With that said, I’ve heard from so many people lately how amazing Las Vegas has been when they’ve traveled with their families; “there are so many kids friendly shows, activities and pools”. My initial stance on Las Vegas with kids has been slowly shifting, so when Kendra Thorton suggested sharing three of her top ideas on things to do with kids in Las Vegas, I of course jumped.

Have you visited Las Vegas with kids? What other activities do you recommend for having a family friendly vacation in Las Vegas?

Three Things to do in Las Vegas with Kids

By Kendra Thorton, guest blogger

The wonders of the world are one-of-a-kind, but there is always Vegas if you want to see them in all one place. Las Vegas is a mixture of thrilling excitement, natural beauty, luxury and old Italian history. The fountains dance across the strip, the performers flip over 1.5 million gallon tanks and there’s so many wedding chapels, it’s no wonder every celebrity has had their brush with romance under the neon lights of Sin City. Whether you’re headed to the Midwest oasis with your family or a getaway with friends, there are all kinds of entertainment to enjoy.

The CSI Experience at MGM Grand
“CSI: Las Vegas” was a breakthrough hit in prime time television, and it all started on the strip. If you loved solving crimes on the TV show, you can get your own personal brand of who-done-it by checking out the CSI Experience at MGM Grand. You get to walk a crime scene, use CSI tools, collect evidence and solve the case. It’s not always so obvious who the killer is. This is the perfect way to spend an afternoon with others who are fans of the show.

Train a Real Dolphin
There’s something for everyone in Vegas. If you’re a lover of the ocean, training a dolphin may be just the thrill that you’re looking for. The Mirage has partnered up with Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat to provide dolphin training for a day. The program gives you an up close look into the lives of dolphins including their health and behavioral traits. You get to spend hours swimming with dolphins and learning how to train these incredible creatures to perform all kinds of tricks.

The Beach at Mandalay Bay
The ultimate relaxation on the beach is just a step away at the Mandalay Bay resort. The Beach here features real sand, water slides, lazy river, tiki bars and a wave pool. If you visit Las Vegas with the family, this is the perfect place to go for an afternoon in the sun, and you can also just relax and float away with a good cocktail.

Las Vegas is truly a unique place and I would recommend it to anyone looking to plan a getaway with their friends and even family. The city certainly isn’t short on hotels and sites like Gogobot make it easy to read user reviews so you can feel even more comfortable with what you will be getting yourself into.
